Laura Forker
Hello! A Little Bit About Me….
I am a Mum of two kids and work as a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist and Pilates Practitioner. I have over 14 years of experience working privately as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist and in recent years I have specialised in women’s health.
What Do I Do?
I help women overcome pelvic floor and core dysfunction that can present at any time in their life but most commonly during pregnancy, after birth, as a result of exercise and before or after menopause. I strive to educate women that experiencing bladder and bowel incontinence, abdominal muscle separation, painful intercourse, back or pelvic pain, may be COMMON but NOT NORMAL!
Why I Do It?
Having experienced some of these symptoms myself in the past, I found I couldn’t readily access the care I needed. Undergoing further education and training courses helped me help myself. I knew lots of women were suffering in silence and with these added skills and expertise, I knew I had to put them into practice..and so Physiofem was born!
How To Work With Me!
I have established a thriving online clinical 1-1 service in addition to online group pilates programmes that women can access flexibly at home. Alternatively you can come see me at the Kingsbridge private hospital at Maypole Clinic, Holywood just outside Belfast. Click here to book in.
Fun Fact
I am also a founding member of the pelvic health promotion group White Circle, which aims to raise awareness of pelvic health issues and how to access help. We deliver workshops to groups of women in addition to health and fitness professionals to educate them how to serve their clients better.
